More new releases filled the One Man’s Jazz in-box for this week including two from Diskoknife Records: “Wild Awake” from a quartet led by trumpeter Darren Johnston and “You Break, You Buy” from the trio of keyboardist Mick Rossi, saxophonist Peter Hess and vibraphonist Matt Moran, German guitarist Jorg Schippa’ Tekk Trio, some Jimi Hendrix interpretations from the duo of tubaist Pinguin Moschner and guitarist Joe Sachse, an extended piece from German Clarinetist Theo Jorgensmann with a sizzling band that includes the late Karl Berger, and a preview of an upcoming compilation of Charles Mingus’ 1970 releases for Atlantic Records.
