Since I’m currently working my way through saxophonist and composer Henry Threadgill’s excellent autobiography “Easily Slip Into Another World, A Life In Music”, it should come as no big surprise that I’d be digging into Threadgill’s music, especially those earlier recordings that one tends to forget. The second hour kicks off with Threadgill; it’s part of a slightly tweaked episode that cuts down on the chatter, plays longer sets, and drops in a set from my car stereo. There are some new releases debuting on OMJ too, from English drummer Johnny Hunter, multi-reedist and composer Vinny Golia’s monumental 5-hour long project, drummer Johnathan Blake, Argentinean pianist Eduardo Aliá, and New York pianist and band leader Eric Plaks.
