Some shows back, Toronto drummer Nick Fraser shared a tune from an upcoming recording to help me celebrate show #1200. Finally, Nick’s been able to share the entire “If There Were No Opposites “ by his quartet, and I will happily share some of that music with you. The recording will be out soon on Hat Hut/Ezz-thetics. Also new this week: the trio Family Plan, another trio featuring guitarist Bob Gorry, English bassist Matt Ridley, a dazzling trio of pianist Paula Shocron from Argentina featuring bassist William Parker, Chicago cellist Ishmael Ali, and back with his second release in 2021, German guitarist Jorg Schippa.
