Sometimes the choices for these shows can get a little overwhelming – like this episode filled with some excellent new releases. For instance, David Murray’s Brave New World Trio, the duo of Ingrid Laubrock and Andy Milne, and Daniel Carter’s Telepathic Band. From Germany the seal gets cracked on three very fine recordings by Gebhard Ullmann’s Das Kondensat, bassist Alex Bayer and bassist Reza Askari. Saxophonist and founder of Gauci Music, Stephen Gauci, has been at the forefront of the improvisation world in New York, and he’s constantly documenting those sessions sparked by the Bushwick Public House Improvisation Series. There are three of the latest sampled, which fit nicely with some music from the recently released Albert Ayler box set. Whew! Enjoy!
