Some new artists, some familiar ones, have new releases to sample this week. First-timers on OMJ are an international quintet called Forest Chorus, the Eva Klesse Quartett, the Cécille Cappozzo Quintet, and Green Soul, a duo from New York that teams up with saxophonist Daniel Carter. Back again are Portguese drummer Joao Lencastre with some “out-takes” from his 2021 Clean Feed Session “Unlimited Dreams”, the magical duo of Ivo Perelman and Matthew Shipp, Italian bassist Silvia Bolognesi, and veteran saxman Michael Marcus. Lots more of great music as well, including the voice of Leon Thomas singin’ the blues.
