This episode starts with a Finnish, in the form of three new recordings from Finland: Jorma Tapio & Kaski, Oaagaada from “Lonna 2019″ and their label-mates on We Jazz Records, the JAF Trio. Aussie saxophonist Rob Burke’s “Slip Sliding” is back with a pair of great tunes. Hour two features music from bassist Eivind Opsvik’s Overseas in live performance. Eivind’s just released “Overseas Live2002-2012″. Also in this hour, the innovative violinist Jason Kao Hwang’s new “The Human Rites Trio” debuts. The final hour is a mixed bag featuring ethereal music from the European trio of Conny and Matthias Bauer and Dag Magnus Narvesen, saxophonist Francesco Bigoni, Ambrose Akinmusire, and Tommaso Cappellato’s Astral Travel. Lots of great music and surprises, too.
