New music from Rudresh Mahantappa this week highlights the show. Mahanthappa continues his explorations, this time connecting with the music of his Indian background, on Kinsmen, bringing Carnatic forms to his always interesting recordings.  Another alto-saxophonist, Canadian Francois Carrier, has just released a seven cd digital box on Ayler records documenting various performances over the last ten years;  we'll sample that, and also play music from new releases from vibist Tom Beckham, the notoriously underrated pianist George Colligan, plus more from Adam Niewood and Corey Wilkes.
